Meet Laura Mastin....

 

Hello! I'm Laura, owner and operator of Whinny Works Horse training. I have been training horses for 7 years, starting as a high-school student in small town Iowa. I am now attending Saint Andrews University for Equine Business Management.
 

I have 5 years of combined experience in Junior High and High School Rodeo (Minnesota State) competing in Barrel Racing and Pole Bending. I finished my high school career in 6th place out of 40 contestants (1st-4th place go to the national competition). Since moving to North Carolina I have saught instruction from highly reputable instructors in both Hunt Seat and Dressage.

 

My training methods revolve around one key element: Communication. By understanding why a horse does the things it does we can correct them in a way that is less stressful to both horse and owner. I strive to not only teach horses, but to make them comfortable being taught, ultimately leading to a quiet and eager to please personality.
